Edinburgh

If you dream an unforgettable tour, visit Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. The city is located on the east coast of Scotland. Ancient volcanoes and glaciers make the nature around the city very impressive. The climate is mild with wet winters and warm summers.The best time to visit the Scottish capital is from May to September when the weather is generally warm and dry. 

If you're looking for an old Scotland, Edinburgh won't disappoint you. History is all around you here. Spectacular medieval castles, palaces, and an old town will make your visit memorable. On the contrary in the modern New Town of Edinburgh you'll find the city of art and culture with interesting museums, galleries and festivals. Edinburgh is divided into the historic Old Town and Georgian New Town by the large and green Princes Street Gardens that are ideal for walks and picnics. The Old Town of Edinburgh has beautiful medieval streets and alleys. The Royal Mile leads from the Edinburgh Castle to the Palace of Holyrood House and numerous buildings from the 16th century can be found along the route.

The spectacular Edinburgh Castle is the main monument of the city. It offers wonderful views over the city. The popular annual Edinburgh Festival takes place there. The city also hosts different concerts throughout the year.

The Queen's official residence in Scotland is the historical Palace of Holyrood House. The palace contains changing art exhibitions. In Edinburgh's historic port you can visit the huge Royal Yacht Britannia. 

The museums in Edinburgh are excellent. They exhibit both modern and ancient arts. The huge Royal Botanic Gardens have an impressive collection of plants, and Edinburgh Zoo is the place to go for the famous penguin parade.

You can get to Edinburgh by road and rail. The quickest way from London is to fly, which takes 1 hour 10 minutes. In addition, Edinburgh is a good starting point for trips to other interesting places in Scotland.

Edinburgh is the place of all the best things to do, see and enjoy. If you visit this wonderful city, you'll find great days out and get a look at the best little-known places waiting to be discovered.
